Had to share these photos I took when I delivered these custom decorated ice cream cone french macarons for Jenesis’ 1st birthday party!  What an adorable setup they had going on in there!  Unfortunately, I only took photos of the dessert table, but you can already tell that the rest of the venue was adorably decorated! The pink macarons were filled with fresh raspberry buttercream, the blue ones with salted caramel buttercream, and the purple non-decorated ones were my ever-popular ube (purple yam) french macarons!  I was asked by my client to decorated some of the macarons like ice cream cones to match their party theme.  The inspiration photo I had only used colored food markers to decorate, however, I wanted to make them look a little more realistic. The “cone” part of the macarons is made of chocolate-flavored fondant that I embossed the texture with a straight edge. The contrasting drizzle is royal icing topped with real sprinkles.  I don’t work with royal icing very often, so props out to all the sugar cookie decorators out there!  Royal icing is not very easy to work with and takes a lot of practice!  Until my next set of these cuties! Special thanks for Jerel & Jem for hiring me to create these adorable macarons for your daughter’s special day!  A very happy 1st birthday Jenesis! #jenniturns1 #jenesismalong

mmc bakes concordia eggstravaganza 2016 chula vista On March 12, I had the wonderful opportunity to share some of my baked goods at the Easter EGGstravaganza community event held at Concordia Church & School in Chula Vista.  I had a dessert table with a few cakes that I donated to the event’s raffle, and also showcased my friend, Shing Bakes, beautiful custom cookies.  My favorite part of this event was meeting plenty of folks from the local community while promoting my business.  I was in my element at this event, and it took me back to my college days when I had a part-time job of promoting brands from beauty products, to cars, and everything in between.  In this era of impersonal social media, there’s nothing better to me than to have good old-fashioned in-person conversations!  The 200+ samples of mini Easter cupcakes and chocolate-covered pretzels I brought were gone within the first hour!  What a SUCCESS!  A BIG THANK YOU to Concordia Church & School for an awesome, very organized event!  My kids had fun checking out other local businesses, getting freebies, and Easter egg hunting!  I hope to do this again next year, and I promise to bring a bunch more freebies!
